Seersucker, gin and wildflowers-a perfect spring day at the Seersucker Gin Distillery right outside of San Antonio, Texas. Somehow, this magical place wasn’t even on my radar. I’m so glad my sweet friend Sara found it though! It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink on a gorgeous spring or summer day. And probably fall too! We’ll see when I head back in November for my birthday!
About the Distillery
Seersucker Southern Style Gin is Joanna Gaines meets a distillery. Everything is branded absolutely perfectly and the clean seersucker lines pair beautifully with the herringbone laid floor. The bar boasts fresh fruit and herbs to top your drink and the menu is a modern twist on old classics.
Our tour guide, Chris Ware, was a wealth of information and somehow tied us enjoying our gin cocktails now to the entirety of British history! Mind blown several times during his tour! If you want to learn more about the history of cocktails, especially gin, this tour is for you! And if you just love delicious cocktails and want to play “washers” or “corn hole” with your friends, still the perfect spot for you!
About the Gin
Currently, Seersucker Souther Gin offers 4 flavors of gin. Original, Lemon, and Lime. At the distillery a Rosemary blend is also on the shelf but I don’t think it’s out everywhere yet! My favorite is the original, but I already loved gin and don’t care for super sweet drinks. The Lemon and Lime mixed with a little (good) tonic water would be absolutely refreshing in summer heat though! It’s rumored an orange infusion may be on the horizon as well!
Final Thoughts
I may be partial since seersucker is my favorite pattern. And the Texas wildflowers this year have me in a tizzy. But- this might just be my new fav spot around San Antonio! Cannot wait to head back and bring the kiddos next time too!
